Jacques' 32-Panel Off-Grid Solar Project in Campbellton, New Brunswick
In the quiet countryside of Campbellton, New Brunswick, where winters are long and demanding, Jacques was looking for more than just a solar setup, he was searching for true energy independence.
Facing unreliable grid access and rising power costs, Jacques was searching for a system that could carry him through all four seasons, no matter the storm or snowfall. With the help of Solar Power Store Canada, we were able to successfully complete a robust off-grid hybrid solar project built to handle everything the East Coast could throw at it.
Power from Above: 32 Maple Leaf Bifacial Solar Panels
At the heart of the system are 32 Maple Leaf 570W all-black bifacial solar panels, mounted high above the ground on custom-engineered pole mounts. These bifacial panels capture sunlight from both the front and rear sides, maximizing output even during low-angle winter light or when snow blankets the surrounding ground.
With advanced N-type cell technology, these modules are built to last, offering zero light-induced degradation and maintaining strong output over a 30-year lifespan. Their half-cut design and bypass diodes help them push through shading and keep performance steady, even during early mornings or cloudy afternoons.
A Mount Designed for Canadian Weather
Supporting the solar array are four Maple Leaf North Pole Mounts, standing an impressive 14 feet tall. This elevated design allows Jacques to position the panels above nearby trees, tall bushes, and snowbanks.
Each pole is equipped with adjustable tilt angles (30°, 45°, and 60°), letting Jacques customize his project depending on seasonal sun exposure. These mounts are built for endurance, since they are engineered to withstand wind speeds up to 105 mph, and certified to Canadian standards. They also help optimize ground space which is an added benefit on Jacques’ property where maximizing usable land was key.
Energy Managed by a LuxPower Hybrid Inverter
To manage all that solar energy, Jacques installed the LuxPower LXP-LB-US 12k Hybrid Inverter. This a smart, outdoor-ready inverter that seamlessly balances solar input, battery storage, and household loads.
Its split-phase 120/240V output powers everything from standard appliances to high-demand tools, and its intuitive plug-and-play interface made for a smooth installation process. Designed with both performance and simplicity in mind, this inverter serves as the control center of Jacques’ off-grid system, ensuring every watt is accounted for and stored or used efficiently.
Batteries Powered for Any Season
Energy storage comes from two Maple Leaf Moose Wall-Mounted Batteries, each delivering 14.34kWh of reliable, high-performance power. Together, they give Jacques over 28kWh of usable energy, a critical reserve for long winter nights or overcast stretches.
Built with Grade A LiFePO4 cells and equipped with intelligent BMS technology, these batteries are designed for over 6,500 cycles and come backed by a 15-year warranty. A 5-inch LCD touchscreen provides real-time performance data, while heavy-duty power switches ensure safety in any condition.
A System Built for Independence
Today, Jacques' property in Campbellton stands as a model of modern off-grid living powered by the sun, supported by reliable hardware, and backed by Canadian Maple Leaf products.
With this 32-panel pole mount system, Jacques doesn’t just generate his own electricity, he controls it, stores it, and uses it on his own terms. Whether it’s in the middle of winter or midsummer, his system keeps delivering clean and dependable power.
