Detailed Eligibility Criteria for Homeowners and Businesses:
Homeowners:
- The solar PV system must have been installed on or after April 1, 2022, and should be connected to Manitoba Hydro’s grid.
- The applicant's name must be listed on the Manitoba Hydro account, and they should maintain an active account for the property.
- The home must function as the applicant's or their tenant’s primary residence, be occupied year-round, and have been occupied for the past 12 months.
- The home must be heated year-round.
- Eligible property types include single-detached homes, semi-detached homes, mobile homes on a permanent foundation, duplexes, triplexes, or fourplexes with their own meter.
- The solar PV system must meet the program’s eligibility criteria.
Businesses:
- Efficiency Manitoba should grant pre-approval for the solar PV installation after August 18, 2022.
- The applicant is either the building's authorized representative or the owner of the business.
- The building has an active Manitoba Hydro account and its own meter.
- The applicant qualifies as an existing Manitoba Hydro customer eligible for commercial general service electricity rates and commercial service natural gas rates.
- The building is presently occupied and has been so for the past 12 months.
- New buildings must be occupied for a minimum of one year before installing the solar PV system; those with new additions qualify if they have an existing meter.
- Post-installation, the solar PV system must be connected to Manitoba Hydro’s grid.
